When something's down, you don't want a ticket queue. Press 1 and the call rings through to a human. We're in Ranchita — 50 minutes from most of the backcountry, not two hours up from San Diego.

What we handle

What happens when you call

Press 1 and it rings through. If we're mid-job and can't pick up, leave a voicemail — it's transcribed and hits our phones immediately, and we call back as soon as we're clear.

Julian to Borrego Springs, Warner Springs to Santa Ysabel — if you're up here, so are we.

Further out than that?

Don't pay anyone to drive out until we've looked.

A lot of what takes a business offline isn't something a technician can fix by standing in the room — your domain, your DNS, your email, your host, your ISP. We've seen a business dark for a day because the company hosting its site quietly went under, and no amount of driving would have touched it.

So if you're outside our 50-minute area, tell us your domain and what's broken. The look is free — no minimum, no trip charge, no obligation. We check the things we can see from the outside without needing a single password from you: DNS and nameservers, domain registrar and expiry, email routing, SPF, DKIM and DMARC, web host and TLS certificates, the public site itself, ISP and upstream status.

Then we tell you what we found. Nothing is billable until you approve a fix, and if we can sort it from here we bill by the hour for the time it actually takes — no two-hour minimum on remote work. And if it genuinely needs hands on site and those hands aren't ours, we'll say so and help you find someone local.

And if the problem is the line itself?

We keep a satellite uplink on the shelf.

Sometimes the fix isn't ours to make — a cut line, an ISP that won't give you a date, an install that slipped a month. Knowing what's wrong doesn't get you back to taking payments.

So we keep one for exactly that. If you're a client, or you're inside our 50-minute area, we can put you back online while we sort out the real fix or get your own dish ordered and installed. It’s one unit, so it’s first come — but ask, because most people don't know it's an option.

We focus on businesses. If it's your home setup, call anyway — we keep a list of independent backcountry technicians we trust, and we'll point you to the right neighbor.

Not an emergency?

We also keep backcountry businesses running day to day — managed IT, networks and wireless, Microsoft AD, and planned incident response. When you have a minute instead of an emergency, that work lives on the services page.
